A series of images from recent day trips to the cities of A Coruña and Santiago de Compostela, Spain. I lived in Ourense, a city nearby in the region of Galicia, for nine months. Each city is less than an hour away by train, but the landscape changes dramatically in this mountainous, lesser known area. A Coruña features an anicent Roman lighthouse which is perched on a cliff overlooking the ocean. Santiago is widely known for being the last stop on a religious pilgrimage, El Camino de Santiago. I skipped church for sunbathed markets and pulpo (a Galician culinary specialty) instead.
